2008 Tondré Grapefield Pinot Noir
11 Months in 50% new French oak
The vineyards of the Highlands produced a small crop of very high quality fruit in 2008. A dry winter was followed by alternating heat and chill spells. The stress from the abnormal weather yielded small intensely flavored berries. The autumn weather was typical, allowing for the harvest of Tondré Pinot Noir on October 9th.
This pinot noir aged beautifully in our cellar, showcasing dried red and black fruits, smoked meat, savory spices, and elegant, chalky tannins.
2014 Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir
10 months in 60% new French oak
The 2014 growing season saw a continuation of the drought in California. The lower than normal rainfall totals and dry winter led to early budbreak. The vineyards proximity to Monterey Bay mitigated the few heat events, allowing for a fairly normal, gentle, long ripening period. Fruit quality from the 2014 vintage was uniformly excellent.
This wine has been perfectly aged, featuring black cherry, cola spice, mulberry, bay leaf, forest floor, joined by a taut palate.
