Partner Vineyards

The Morgan label offers a wide range of wines that draw upon fruit from our own Double L estate, as well as the best growers throughout Monterey County. We’ve developed long-term partnerships with these growers, guaranteeing top-quality grapes from vintage to vintage. For our limited, single vineyard releases in addition to Double L, we look to these vineyards: Garys’, Rosella’s, Tondre, Boekenoogen, and McIntyre.

Garys' Vineyard

Planted: 1997
Acreage: 50 Acres
Growers: Gary Franscioni & Gary Pisoni

Garys’ Vineyard is named for grape-growing partners Gary Pisoni and Gary Franscioni, both of whom come from multi-generational farming families in the Salinas Valley. The Garys, like their parents before them, grew up together. Located in the heart of the Santa Lucia Highlands on sandy loam soil, the esteemed fifty-acre vineyard is planted mostly to Pinot Noir, with a small allotment of Syrah. Morgan Winery began purchasing fruit from this unique vineyard in 1999 and the partnership has remained strong since.

Rosella's Vineyard

Planted: 1996
Acreage: 50 Acres
Grower: Gary & Rosella Franscioni

Planted in the bench lands of the Santa Lucia Highlands, Rosella’s Vineyard is one of the most renowned estates in the appellation. Owners Gary and Rosella Franscioni planted the vineyard in 1996 with forty acres of “Pisoni” clone Pinot Noir and ten acres of Dijon clone Chardonnay. Morgan began purchasing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Rosella’s Vineyard in 1998.

Tondre Grapefield

Planted: 1997
Acreage: 103 Acres
Grower: Joe Alarid

Tondré Alarid and son Joe Alarid, both steeped in California’s agricultural history, planted Tondré Grapefield with six and a half acres of Pinot Noir in 1997. Today, the grapefield has seven blocks for an accumulation of one hundred acres dedicated to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Tondré Grapfield is SIP Certified, underlining the Alarids’ commitment to sustainable farming in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Morgan has proudly purchased grapes from Tondré Grapefield since 2005.

Boekenoogen Vineyard

Planted: 1997
Acreage: 97 Acres
Grower: Garrett Boekenoogen

The Boekenoogens are one of Monterey County’s long-time cattle ranching families. In 1997, John Boekenoogen took part of the family ranch in the Santa Lucia Highlands, and began planting Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Today son Garrett Boekenoogen oversees the 97 acres of vineyards seated on the same land farmed by five generations of his family. Morgan’s partnership with Boekenoogen is not nearly as long – starting in 2015 – but is exceptional none-the-less.

McIntyre Vineyard

Planted: 1973
Acreage: 57 acres
Grower: Steve McIntyre

Originally planted in 1973, McIntyre Vineyard boasts some of the oldest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Owner Steve McIntyre has three decades of experience winegrowing in the Santa Lucia Highlands and is one of the originators of the SIP (Sustainable in Practice) Certification Program. Beginning in 2006, Morgan has partnered with McIntyre Vineyards not only for the quality and complexity of their grapes, but also their commitment to ensuring the protection of natural and human resources.
